As the title of this entry suggests, I've got some interesting things going on right now. Read on to learn more.

Today I went snowboarding with some friends at the local ski hill. We had been riding for about 2 hours when we decided to head in for lunch. Of course, the quickest way back to the chalet is down a black diamond, which, if you are a ski entusiast, you know is the most difficult class of hill. Normally, this run is no problem, but today, I was kind of racing my friends. Unfortunately, I caught an edge on my board and took a bit of a tumble. The hill was so steep that I fell down about 10 feet before hitting my shoulder while traveling about 20 miles/hour. Normally, it takes 5 pounds of pressure to break your collar bone, but at this speed, with 180 pounds (me plus my gear) crashing upon it, I obviously exceeded this number. I could here and feel the bone break as I landed, and then I tried to push myself up. Of course, the bones all shifted around, and I decided not to go anywhere. I waited for 10 minutes until someone came past, and they went to get the Ski Patrol, which arrived 5 minutes later. They took off my snowboard and dragged me into a sled and pulled me down the hill behind a snowmobile. My dad drove out and brought me to Express Care. I got some shots (in the ass) and then they took X-Rays. I fucked myself up pretty bad. The bone is broken into three pieces. It's split right in the middle, and then one of the halves broke the long way. The pieces are pushing up on my skin, so you can see them all. I've got a sling, and some vicatin (woohoo!), but thats all you can really do. I'm gong to an orthoedist on Moday to see if surgery is necesary, but the doctor I saw today said it was the worst break that he's ever seen. I may have to get some screws put in.

So, my snowboarding season ended 2 hours after it started, and I'm out for the rest of the year. If I'm lucky, I will be mostly healed by March...
